One of the area's first museums, the Wistariahurst Museum resides in a historic Victorian house; period furniture and decorative arts line its interior. Rotating exhibits speak to various aspects of the town's history, such as immigration and silk manufacturing, and art exhibits including work by Sheryl Jaffe and Mary Frank. Culling its name from wisteria vines planted when the house was built in the 1880s, its stunning grounds include a driveway paved with dinosaur tracks and an entrance guarded by two marble lions. The museum lies in downtown Holyoke, southwest of Mitchell Field.
Open Sat. - Mon. noon - 4:00 p.m.
General admission $3.
